InComm Releases New Mobile Wallet Platform

The everyday uses for smartphones are continuously growing, and businesses are searching for more ways to implement them in money making efforts. One of the more prevalent smartphone adaptations for businesses to take advantage of are mobile payment applications, enabling customers to pay for goods and services through their smartphones.

InComm, a provider of prepaid products, services, and technologies, announced on May 20, the launch of the InComm Mobile Platform (IMP) a full-service platform for mobile-wallet providers and merchants.

"InComm Mobile Platform lets mobile wallet providers offer consumers a secure mobile payments system that allows easy access to their payment needs with a simple tap on a point-of-sale terminal. Our technology and partnership investments have allowed us to build a robust global platform that mobile wallet providers need for their brands to launch a solution that offers convenience for their consumers and drives brand loyalty," said Frank Monaco, Executive Vice President and General Manager of International, InComm.

IMP will integrate with multiple platforms to provide a full-breadth of capabilities necessary for the processing of mobile payments made using prepaid cards.

Using near field communication, IMP is able to support consumer payments at the retail point-of-sale level, along with account top-ups through credit and debit cards. InComm also formed a technology partnership that allowed them to create a Service Provider Trusted Services Manager (TSM) system. The TSM system assists in securely sending prepaid card information from the platform to mobile devices.

Integrating InComm's own system with seven partner systems, IMP serves as a hub for sending inbound and outbound messages regarding prepaid products in a digital wallet. Through this integration IMP is able to process various transactions, including card provisioning, card reloads, buying and sending digital cards, and many other functions. It also allows for billing, reconciliation and customer analytics.

InComm's new platform supports the creation of prepaid debit card accounts, the generation of track data, the funding of accounts, balance inquiries and transaction history. Alongside all these important tools, InComm will provide fraud management services that will monitor activity and address potential issues.

InComm is offering to develop applications using IMP for mobile wallet providers and merchants. The company has already found a first client, in the form of communications and media company Rogers, whom will be using the new product for development of the suretap wallet.
