Mobile Commerce Company NXT-ID Gets Industry Vet As New Board Member

NXT-ID is a biometric mobile commerce company, recently announced the appointment of Michael J. d’Almada-Remedios to the firm’s board of directors. The mobile commerce field is becoming more and more competitive as new firms join the fray. Companies like NXT-ID are doing everything they can to get a leg up on their opponents. Remedios is well-known through the Biometric field as someone who is an expert in a variety of different verticals and will be able to advise the company in key areas of technological development.

He brings more than twenty years of experience as an executive in the product, technology and operations fields of the mobile commerce world. Also, over his multiple-decade career, the newest member of the board has served as a CTO, CIO and a COO and has held positions at some major e-commerce and social consumer brands around the world including Expedia and eBay.

Gino M. Pereira, CEO of NXT-ID, talked about the new appointment to his company’s board of directors saying, "We are delighted to welcome Mike to the Board of NXT-ID. His extensive e-commerce and banking experience will be invaluable to the Company as we launch our mobile security products, including the Wocket. His experience is a terrific complement to the government markets background that our current independent board member Major General David Gust (Ret.) provides. The majority of our Board now comprises independent Board Members."

Aside from mobile commerce applications, NXT-ID also has a specialty in the mobile security field. The company recently unveiled a program known as MobileBio. This particular application helps consumers do mobile shopping while knowing that their identities and financial information are being kept 100 percent safe. MobileBio services can be used on mobile phones as well as tablets and can be used on multiple operating systems, including Android and iOS.
