In-Store QR Codes Available at Office Depot

One of the most common New Years resolutions is to get organized, and Office Depot has made it easier for people to do just that by making QR codes available to its customers. Office Depot is using QR codes to promote its new microsite which offers advice and product videos to aid with home or office organization.

Owen Torres, the communications manager for Office Depot in Boca Raton, Florida, sees this as a way to cater to Office Depot’s customers; “Office Depot customers are very tech savvy and are often shopping our stores with smartphones in hand.”

This new campaign, he says, will offer added value; “With the ‘Organize Me 2013’ campaign, Office Depot is offering its customers a value-added shopping experience by not only helping them navigate through the store, but also by offering expert videos, providing organization tips along with product suggestions. This way, we are helping them not just to buy products, but also offering a more comprehensive solution to their organizational needs.”

The ‘Organize Me 2013’ products are marked with a QR code in the store to indicate to customers that further information is available for them. The company has created a free ‘Organize Me 2013’ organizational calendar, which customers can obtain by downloading and printing a coupon that may be brought into any Office Depot location before March 15, 2013.

The new campaign is switching the company’s attention to the smaller style stores and improving customers’ shopping experience by renovating many of the stores. By making these changes and adding this new shopping campaign, Office Depot is hoping to increase the revenue generated by in-store sales.

To ensure the ‘Organize Me 2012’ campaign is successful, Office Depot has sought out the assistance of home and office organizational specialist Holly Bohn-Weiss along with the author of “Gadget Nation,” tech guru Steve Greenberg, to share their ideas, product selections, and informative videos to help customers get themselves organized. Office Depot is conducting a contest in search of the next great organizer, which is also being hosted by Bohn-Weiss and Greenberg.
