Rockport Integrates Google Wallet Payments

Google Wallet has another success story to its name, with Rockport integrating it as a payment option on its mobile site. Rockport’s mobile site features a line of shoes, boots and accessories which can be purchased from a customer’s smartphone, and now with Google Wallet, all a customer’s payment information is secure and easy to use.

Should anyone purchasing from Rockport mobile use Google Wallet, the credit card information, billing address and so on are already stored in Google Wallet. They can select that option, log in, and complete an order in three steps.

That’s quite a lot of time saved compared to the usual requirements of entering the credit card number, expiration date, a number on the back of the card and so on.

Considering the screen size on mobile devices, entering that information can be an even bigger time drain, and is prone to mistakes. Google Wallet gets around that by securely storing the information and entering it for you.

“The checkout process is a key part of any mobile commerce consumer experience,” said Kimberly Correia Hunt, Rockport’s director of Global eCommerce. “This new tool from Google Wallet means our customers can more quickly and easily complete a mobile purchase. We see this as a big asset and are pleased to have been selected to be one of the first online retailers with this tool.”

While there are still lingering doubts about virtual wallets, Google Wallet is a trustworthy application that has proven itself very useful. Rockport’s mobile customers have been able to make purchases with greater ease than ever before with it, and they don’t need to worry about their financial information being compromised.

It’s safe, easy and convenient, once a website integrates the payment option. Rockport has, and it’s glad to have made that decision.
